Jewelry gifts from Colombia — handmade, one of a kind

A Musae piece is not a gift that could have come from anywhere. It is a specific object, made in Bogotá, that will not exist anywhere else in exactly that form.

IWhy gift

Why a handmade jewelry gift is different

DEF.A handmade jewelry gift differs from a purchased jewelry gift in one fundamental way: the object itself carries the evidence of its making. A Musae blown glass piece was shaped by a specific person's hands, at a specific moment, from raw material — and will never be reproduced identically. This is not a marketing claim; it is a structural consequence of the lampworking process.

Most jewelry gifts — even from premium brands — are items reproduced thousands of times from the same mold. The gift is the design, not the object. A handmade piece inverts this: the design is secondary to the specific object. You are giving that piece, not a version of a design.

  • ·01Each piece is genuinely one of a kind — no mold, no identical copy anywhere in the world
  • ·02The glass was shaped by hand in Bogotá — the provenance is real and verifiable
  • ·03Once a piece sells, that exact form is gone — the gift has inherent scarcity
  • ·04Comes carefully packaged and ready to give — no additional wrapping needed
  • ·05A handwritten note can be included — contact us via Instagram before ordering
IIHow to choose

How to choose a jewelry gift — by personality and occasion

DEF.Choosing jewelry as a gift works best when you think about the person's relationship to objects — whether they collect, display, or wear things — rather than their style preferences, which are harder to guess.

The question is not 'what does she like?' but 'how does she relate to things?' Someone who notices craft in everyday objects will respond differently to a blown glass piece than someone who values function over form. Use what you know about how the person relates to handmade things as your guide.

  • ·01For someone who notices craft: a technically demanding piece like Volatil or Bifloral
  • ·02For a minimalist: a single small charm or delicate choker-length piece
  • ·03For a statement wearer: a larger pendant with strong color or form
  • ·04For a birthday: lead with a piece that feels personal — describe their personality when you contact us
  • ·05For a couple's anniversary: a custom commission allows you to encode something specific into the piece
  • ·06For 'just because': any piece from the current collection — the uniqueness is the gift itself

  1. 01How much does a jewelry gift from Musae cost?

Musae pieces range from approximately COP 60,000 for smaller earrings to COP 180,000 for more complex necklaces. Custom commissions vary by piece type and are quoted individually. Given the studio work behind each piece — several hours per item — these prices represent genuine craft value, not a premium on a mass-produced object.

  2. 02How is Musae jewelry packaged for gifting?

All Musae pieces arrive in careful packaging that is already suitable for gifting. If you want a handwritten note included, contact us via Instagram @musaejoyeria before placing the order and we will arrange it. We can also advise on packaging upgrades for special occasions.

  3. 03What if the person I am gifting does not like the piece?

Because each piece is genuinely one of a kind, exchanges are handled case by case — there is no identical replacement. If the piece does not suit the recipient, we can discuss store credit toward another piece. The best way to avoid this: describe the recipient's aesthetic briefly when contacting us, and we can recommend from the current collection.

  4. 04Can I order a custom piece as a gift?

Yes — and a custom commission is often the most meaningful gift option. You can brief us on the recipient's personality, color preferences, and the occasion, and we will shape something specific. Timeline for custom commissions is 2–4 weeks, so plan accordingly for time-sensitive occasions.

  5. 05Does Musae offer gift cards?

Currently Musae does not offer digital gift cards through the online store. The best equivalent is to purchase a specific piece you think the recipient will love — or to commission a custom piece on their behalf. Contact us via Instagram @musaejoyeria if you want advice on which piece to choose for a specific person.

  6. 06Is blown glass jewelry a practical gift or purely decorative?

It is genuinely wearable. Musae pieces are made for daily use — the annealing process makes the glass significantly more durable than decorative glass. They are not fragile objects to be kept in a display case; they are jewelry designed to be worn. That said, reasonable care applies: avoid hard impacts and store carefully when not wearing.

  7. 07Can I get a gift receipt or send the jewelry directly to the recipient?

Yes — you can ship directly to the recipient's address at checkout. Include a note at the time of purchase with any message you want included, or contact us via Instagram @musaejoyeria and we will coordinate the details. We do not include invoices in the package by default.
