Artisan earrings from Bogotá — made in our studio
Blown glass earrings shaped by hand in Bogotá. Each pair is the product of hours of studio work — and will never be exactly repeated.
Artisan earrings in Bogotá — what that actually means
DEF.Artisan earrings made in Bogotá by Musae are blown glass pieces shaped through lampworking in a working studio — not assembled from imported components, not produced in volume. Each pair is made from raw glass rods and fitted with 950 silver hooks by hand.
Bogotá has a real artisan jewelry scene — the Feria EVA and other craft markets are evidence of it. But within that scene, blown glass remains rare. Most artisan earrings in the city are made from silver, beads, or resin. Musae's lampworking practice puts a different material and a different level of technical difficulty on the table.

The Musae studio — Bogotá
DEF.Musae is a small studio in Bogotá dedicated to blown glass and silver jewelry. The studio practice is the brand — there is no manufacturing partner, no production facility. What you buy is what the studio makes.
The studio works with a torch, an annealing kiln, hand tools, and glass rods. The scale is intentionally small: this allows for genuine attention to each piece and ensures that what reaches the customer is the direct result of the artisan's work, not a quality-controlled facsimile of it.
- ·01Small-batch studio practice — not a brand with outsourced manufacturing
- ·02Every piece made by the same artisans who develop the design
- ·03Studio located in Bogotá — active in the city's artisan fair circuit
- ·04Pieces come to the online store only after passing the studio's own quality review
- ·05The small scale means limited stock — when a piece sells, it will not be restocked identically

01Where can I find artisan earrings in Bogotá?
Bogotá's artisan fair circuit — including the Feria EVA — is the best place to encounter handcrafted jewelry made by local studios. Musae participates in these fairs and also sells through the online store at musae.com.co, with shipping across Colombia. The online store is the most reliable way to access the current collection outside of fair dates.
02Are Musae earrings made in Bogotá or imported?
Made in Bogotá, in Musae's own studio. The glass rods used as raw material are imported (blown glass requires specialized glass not produced in Colombia), but the shaping, assembly, and finishing all happen in the studio. There is no manufacturing partner — these are studio-made pieces.
03How long does it take to make a pair of blown glass earrings?
A pair of blown glass earrings requires approximately 3–5 hours of studio work, including shaping both pieces, the annealing process (slow cooling in a kiln to strengthen the glass), and hand assembly with silver findings. This does not include the planning and design iteration that precedes each series.
04What earring styles does Musae make?
Musae's earring range includes drop earrings, stud-style glass pieces, and longer statement designs. The Bifloral line draws from botanical forms; other pieces are more abstract or geometric. The current collection is shown in the online store — it changes as new pieces come out of the studio.
05Are the earring hooks hypoallergenic?
Musae uses 950 silver hooks — a high-purity silver alloy (95% pure silver). Most people with metal sensitivities tolerate 950 silver well, but if you have a known allergy to silver, contact us before purchasing. We can advise on alternative hook materials for custom orders.
06Can I visit the Musae studio in Bogotá?
The studio is a working space, not a storefront open to walk-in visits. The best way to see Musae pieces in person is at one of the artisan fairs where we participate — announced on Instagram @musaejoyeria. The online store is available year-round for purchasing.
